CORPORATE TEAM BUILDING: WHY AN ESCAPE ROOM MAKES SENSE
As a supervisor, you know how important it is to have a team that loves working with one another. When you only know your coworkers in a workplace environment. In order to build an effective team where your employees are bonded with one another, it's a good idea to get out of the office and take on a new challenge together. Corporate team building is a great way to help your employees have more fun at work, and going through a corporate team building activity like escape room puzzle games can be a fun way for you to get to learn more about the strengths and weaknesses of your employees.
When you tell your employees that you're going to do an escape room together, it becomes interesting right from the start. Some employees will be excited to take on the new challenge, while others may be a little apprehensive about sharing this experience with their coworkers. While some supervisors try to give employees a task within the escape room environment, it can be much more fun to watch things unfold as the group works together. You'll likely be surprised at who chooses to step up as a leader, and you'll enjoy getting to see how your employees interact with one another outside of the workplace.
During your escape room experience, you'll work together to solve a puzzle. It's up to you to decide whether you want to participate with your employees, or if you'd rather step back and let them tackle the experience on their own. Both options have their benefits. If you choose to get in with your employees and go through the escape room process together, you'll get to participate with them on the level of a peer, which can provide a different dynamic than what you experience in the workplace. If you choose to let them complete the escape room without your help, you'll get to watch them bond as a team, and see how they interact with one another when they don't have your guidance.
After you complete your escape room experience, you'll want to debrief together. This doesn't need to be anything formal - talking about what you learned over lunch or at happy hour is a great way to recognize the fun you had together, and to talk about the new things you learned about each other.
In a busy workplace environment, it's easy to put team building on the back burner. When you prioritize relationships between and with your employees, you'll notice that workplace satisfaction and productivity increases.
